Food quality and safety assurance are essential pillars of the food sector and public health, with a view to ensuring that products reaching consumers are safe as well as of the best quality. Through the adoption of strict measures like HACCP, traceability schemes, and constant checks, industries are able to minimize risks of contamination, foodborne disease, and safety violations. Quality assurance is also applied to the preservation of nutritional value, sensory characteristics, and conformity to regulatory systems, which enhances consumer trust. This session will present current approaches, technologies, and policies that assist in protecting food production, supply, and consumption, focusing on producers', regulators', and consumers' collective responsibility towards successful safe and credible food systems.
