Worldwide, global malnutrition constitutes a range of nutrition-related problems, including undernutrition, micronutrient deficiencies, and overnutrition, which impact millions of people across the globe. The determinants of these issues are multi-factorial, including but not limited to, socioeconomic inequities, food insecurity, sociocultural influences, and environmental factors, all of which lead to health consequences for all age groups. Efforts to address malnutrition at some level requires proactive public health programs, community focused strategies, and policy action; all of which must facilitate equitable access to nutritious food. This oral session will provide an overview of what we currently know about global malnutrition, discussing innovative ways to address nutritional inequities, and highlighting successes and collaborations to improve health and advance sustainable food and nutrition security globally.
